PUNTA GORDA, FLORIDA i The Lazy Failures A questionaire sent out by certain school authorities to 2,500 students who failed in one or moiv subjects during the first school term revealed (he fact that 77 per cent of the fail ures were due to laziness on the part of the student or to lack of interest in a particular subject. Ten per cent of the students ques tioned failed because of illness or ab sence. Only 2 pr cent claimed un fairness on the part of the teaches. Of the remaining number some failed to answer, and others laid their fail ures to outside interests which crowd ed the periods of home study and dis tracted the mind in school. It is a comment, on the cause of failures which should be interesting' to parents and teachers equally. for timely and effective co-operation between the school and the home to reduce the preventable failures to the .vanishing point.- Palm Beach Daily ' News.
