Tuesday afternoon. Donald
Cook,Jr., was unanimously
elected to be postmaster
of the Valentine box and
Cynthia Witt was elected j
mail carrier. Election j
over, Donald opened the
post office and Cynthia dis
tributed the mail. A treal
followed. Elaine Scheibei
shared a handsome box of
candy with her playmates
and Mr. and Mrs. Smith
treated the school child
ren. A game of Read and
Write was much enjoyed.

Motoring to Seward last night to attend
a double-header basketball game at the
High School gymnasium were Mr. and Mrs.
Harry L. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Laub
scher, Mr. and Mrs, Paul ’Villiams and
Lyman Graves.
Charles Clements will take over Byron
Cassler's duties at the Ranger Station at
Lawing and Mr. Cassler will work in the
Seward office of the Forest Office as as
sistant to Sidney Denison.

Judge Louis Brandeis resigned his of
fice in the United States Supreme Court
last Monday.
The Committee appointed to act on the
i Community Hall building project, met for
discussion Tuesday night at the school
house.
Everybody is cordially invited to at
tend the dance Saturday night at Hielo’s
Roadhouse. A fine large time is antici
pated by those planning to attend.
The Sewing Club will be entertained
next Wednesday afternoon at the home of
Urs, Ralph Reid,
Pope Pius XI was buried Tuesday at 4 p.m.
His funeral services were broadcasted.
