Selective Draft Board for Apache County. AFTER 33 YEARS. Supervisor Heber Jarvis was most agreeably surprised last Saturday, when two of his sisters from Utah arrived here. One sister, Mrs. Cottam, lives at St. George, Utah, while the other, Mrs. Annie Milime resides at Salt Lake City. It is thirty-three years since they have seen each other. Mr. Jarvis having moved to Arizona in the early eighties. The meeting was a joyful one for the brother and sisters. Mrs. Chas, Jarvis is also a sister and participates in the joy of having her sisters with them for a visit. Mr. Shay and L. E. Carron were in our city this week. Mr. Shay is an agent for the G. M. C. trucks and was here for the purpose of trying to place orders for trucks for the purpose of hauling, the freight from Holbrook to St. Johns Mr. Shay is an experienced hand rand well acquainted with what the truck can do in different parts of the United States and he says that the roads from St. Johns to Holbrook is much better than roads on which many of G. M. C. trucks are making good money. He is of the opinion that there is a fine chance here for someone to make money with a truck frieght line, In many cases where the horse teams have tried to com pete with the truck, the teams have had to move out and give way to the truck. It is probable that if someone here does not in vest in a truck that someone from the outside will put one on our roads and show us what can be done and then perhaps someone will see the point when it is too late.
