Bond Election To Be Called
The town Council at its regular
meeting Tuesday night decided
to call a bond election for the
purpose of voting bonds to pro
vide the town of Williams with
municipally owned water and
electric plants. The sum to be
raised in this manner is fixed at
$75,000.
The Council formerly made
the Williams Water and Electric
Company a tentative offer of
$40,000 for their entire holdings
here. The Water company has
held out for $60,000 for their en
tire plants, it tne $o.uuu in
bonds is voted by the people of
Williams the Council will then
be in a position to purchase of
the Williams Water & Electric
Company provided they will sell
for $50,000, or to put in entirely
new systems in case the com
pany refuses to sell at that fi

Late Spring Killed Lambs
Forty per cent of this year's
lambs and fifteen per cent of
this year's calves were lost on
account of the exceptionally late
cold spring in the National For
ests of Northern New Mexico,
according to estimates just com
piled by the District Forester.
A thirty per cent loss in lambs
is reported from the Tonto For
est in central Arizona. With
local exceptions, young range
stock on other Southwestern
Forests fared very well, accord
ing to the District Forester's fi
gures. An especially fine crop
of grass is reported from the
Forests of Northern Arizona,
and an exceptionally poor crop
