Jordan The Shoe Man "The Store that Always Saves You Money" 30C non MARKET REPORT Cattle and Hogs Lower Lambs Firm Chicago reported the lar gest receipts of the cattle and hogs thus far this season and the market there declin ed taking prices down elsewhere- Here fat steers and most butcher cattle were 15 to 25 cents lower. Some prime 1056 pound Shorthorn yearlings sold bt $12.75, the highest price this year. Stockess and feeders were quoted stronger. . Hog pric es broke 10 to 20 cents, most ly 10 cents. Trade was a ctive demand at fully steady prices. Today's Receipt Receipts today were 15,000 cattle, 8009 hogs, and 6000 sheeD. compared with 12.000 cattle, 5000 hogs, and 5000 sheep a week ago, and 10, 500 cattle, 15,900 hogs, and 6050 sheep a year ogo. Beef Cattle Prime 1056 pound Short horn vearlinff steers sold up to $12.75, the highest price paid on any market this year, borne cnoice yzo z o 1100 Dound steers sold a t $8.25 to $8.75, and were steady. A 15 to 25 cent de cline was Quoted in short fed steers, or those that sold at $6.25 to $8.00, cows and heifers were 10 to 15 cents lower, though the trade was active, except for "canners" veal calves were steady. Stockers And feeders Demand for stockers and feeders after a slow opening became active and closing Drices were strong. Light weight stockers and stock calves were more active than the other classes. Heavy feeders sold slowly. Hogs At the outset bids for hogs were down 15 to 25 cents. but later most sales were 10 to 20 cents under Saturday and the closing trade was active. The top price was $6.90 with bulk of sales $6. 60 to $6.85. rigs sold up to $7 10. Reeeints continued light. A complete clearance was reported. Sheeps And Lambs Trade in the sheep divis ion was active with the the bulk of the offerings fed lambs that sold at $10 t o $10.25. Some light weight ewes brought $4.50. Few feeding lambs were offered. Horses And Mules The SDanish government started to nil an order tor 800 horses and mules. Other demand was small. Prices were quoted unchanged. Under the old law he was entitled to only 200 exemption. These exemp tions apply only to those with incomes of less than $5,000 a year. Under the new law, however, a married man with six children would be entitled to $4,900 exemp tions before he began to pay any income tax,-$2,500 ex emption as a married man, and $400 for each of the six children.
