FATHER’S DAY

lilac with a green leaf was
worn at the first celebra
tion,ln 1924, the dandelion
was chosen on the basis
that "the it's tramp

However, it is not used in
ell parts of the country,
Sunday marks our fourth
wartime Father’s Day, Thou
sands of fathers are not
able to be with their fami
lies for this reason. Many
of them hold fend memories
of the * post when they wore
"kings for a day," Many are
fathers of children they
have never seen and look
forward to .the time when
they will see their child.
We can be assured that all
of their thoughts are tur
ned home ward with their—
wishes to all concerned,
Whether they bo on a far
flung battle field or at
hone with their families,
evrry father has one thoug
ht in mind; of being able
to bring this war to a sp
eedy No price is too
great to insure their des
cendants of living in a
world free from want,strife
and fear. In seme way all
are * contributing to the
cause for vhich sc many
have gallantly sacrificed
and died, Y, T e must do our
share to aid, that this
will remain forever as in
the past, the best country
in the world,
