On -ay 14, 1945 Servant Lynch was given the mission of leading a small reconnaissance* patrol of the 369th In fantry Regiment into enejny territory to invest.* rate a certain location believed to be held by the enemy. After accom plishing the mission, Sgfc, Lynch moved his patrol back toward the U. S. peri meter. Enroute back,th(; patrol was fir • od upon by an enemy party, employing machine runs, grenade launchers, rifles and pistols, Sgt. Lynch immediately directed the fire of his men upon trie enery, while a portion of the patrol maneuvered around to the enemy's flank and attacked. In the ensuing fight all of the Japanese were killed and their weapons arid maps were captured without a Single casualty in Sgt, Lynch's patrol. His citation states that "his aggressive action is a credit to his unit, and a reflection of the highest standards of military trad ition." Sgt. We are vdry glad to have her with us at this time and anticipate a joyous reunion \ with her host of friends here at Hua- ' chucailliis Davis is well known nation ally for her efficiency in YWCA and USO work. The Post Band was really "in tne gro ove" on last Tuesday evening at the USO Club when an eager group of merry-makers again had a full evening of dancing, laughter and fun. Everyone seemed to be - in a gay mood, and this feeling of hil arity was maintained throughout the evening, * Thanks to Lt. Muriel K. Fawcett of Special Service who made it possible for our Splash Party on last Friday afternoon to such a success, Glad we had a chance to get together in good old H2° before the season ended. The new club organized recently by the ladies of Fort Huachuca will meet twice per month on the Ist and 3rd \7ed nesdays. The business meeting will be * held in the USO Club rooms after which lessons in arts and crafts will be giv en. The social meeting will be held - either at the USO or in private homes depending upon the choice of the host esses. Plans are under way for special activities at the USO Club, tours, etc. Orchids to our own Mr. Williams who ms champion in the recent tennis tour- % namont held on the Post. He won the singles and with Sgt, Kermit’Gantt also won the doubles. HOIiSEIttCK RIDING Sunday, Sept 23 at ii.M. Transportation will be avail- 1 able in the MAC area at that tine.
