5 October 1945 * Saturday night, October 6th - that 1 s the date. Dance at the USO Club. Post 1 Band will furnish the music. Hostesses from Douglas, Fort Huachuca and Tucson. t The Ladies Club of the' USO sponsored their first activity on last Sunday night. Pvt. Clara hells was mistress of ceremonies. The program committee under the leadership of Mrs; Cecelia Paskler worked untiringly to make the affair a success and their efforts were duly re warded% The guest of honor was Mr. Har * vey Brooks,’ well known musician and com poser for Hollywood studios. His piano selections met with great applause. Ev eryone present agreed that Lt. De Kalb ’ knows just about all there is to know about a "fiddle". He was accompanied by „ our own ace musician Lt. Stanfield who also rendered several beautiful piano numbers; The MAC quartet was another highlight of the program and those girls can certainly harmonize. Petite Pfc. Clelie Pecot is truly an artist. She kept the audience spellbound as she re cited her interpretation of a dying soldier; Cpl. Calahan, her accompanist, did a magnificent job. Mrs. Amy Gath ings can hit high "C" if she wants to * as she has a lovely soprano voice. Punch and cookies were served later by Mrs, Houston, one of the club members. A Night in Monte Carlo! That was last Saturday night at the U3O Club. Roul ette wheels, dart games and the whole gamut of things that go along with a night in Monte Carlo were played by the gay pleasure seekers. Chips were issued * free to play the games and were later cashed in for prizes. * Donestic employment for residents of Fort Huachuca is handled through the U3O Club both for employee and employer. At present, we have three unfilled vac ancies. BILLY looks a little under fed to tackle such a big job. With 34 points, many local MACS are eyeing jodie clothes in the stores in neighboring towns, anticipating dis charge after November 1. Post Theater No.l is frequented more by MACS since the advent of free gratis GI transportation.
