, At the USO on Saturday last, we saw some of the best jit tor-bugging in the West. In the finals, Pvt, Joe "Flat- Top" Rosses and Pfc, Uary Turner won out over Sgt, "Hank" Moore and Hiss Lan ‘ on Martin, Both young ladies were from Tucson, It was a heated contest and was , decided by public applause. Thanks to the 1330 and its staff for a lovely even ing. The music b ' the Post Band was •hotter than hot’,...,The WAG and Sold ier Council took a jaunt to gay Nogales. This was also under the auspices of the USO. Vie had a nice trip and most of the girls attending spent their time jewol • ry hunting and eating tasty Mexican dishes. Among those making the trip were: T/4s Kelloybrew, Russell, Moyer, , T/5s Warren, Pecot, Scott, Pfcs. Wells, Ellis, Erwin, E. Reese and Santos, Some G-Is tagged along as usual..... .Sunday « we’ll make- our regular trip to the Nich olson Ranch to do a bit of riding. Cap t. Arthur Thoms will be the 0 in Ch. PARKS AND SITES: Due to seniority, "Pal ly", owned b;, Pfc, H. Cross, has been l promoted- to Ist Sgt. and is the Supreme I Ruler of all Dogs in the village, "hil- I ly" has suddenly begun to take on weight I since her appointment. If so, there is a special treat in store for you on October 16th, at the DSO Club. On that date at 8:00 P.LL. the birthday party of the month will be given. Elaborate plans arc- being made by the ladies Club of the USO to entertain you. Jitter-bugs .and more jitter-bugs I Yep, they were in full swing last Sat urday night at our semi-monthly dance*. The contest winners were pfc, Mary Tur ner of Tucson, Lanon /.martin, civilian hostess also from Tucson, Hank Moore, Fost Hq Det., and Joe Rossos, a' l - 20 Fort Huachuca. The croved egged the dan cers on, and finally by their applause the winners were determined. Cpl. Delia Haney and Sgt. Bland were- the judges* Trip to Nogales. Wacville should be donned with several little Mexican nick nacks because the girls had a shopping spree in Nogales on Last Sunday. Trans portation was furnished by the USO and everyone had a lovely day. Making records is one of the favorite activities at the USO Club, Messages are sometimes in the form of a song, musical numbers or just plain ad-lib bing.
