12 October 1945 SERVICE CLUB NO.l N-E-W-S N-O-Y-E-S A happy, though slightly bewildered litt3.e WAG, Pfc Katherine Phillips, surre ptitiously wiped away a tear as she opened a huge pile of gifts brought by friends to the shower ar ranged for her by her im mediate friends. This sur prise party made an inter esting and happy addition to the weekly dance. It also brought about 30 WACs to take part in the dance; a very welcome augmenting of the civilian ladies who always take a part in the Club program. How quickly the Ordnance Ammunition fellows devel oped the WAC habitl Final ly, the good music merged the dance and the shower into a very pleasant even ing. Yes, yes -’twas good music. The Sunday evening prog ram; A PANEL DISCUSS IOW led by Lt. Tate of the I & E Division, and his staff, proved interesting and brought together some 55 seekers for information about pet questions and worries. Many queries con cerning jobs and advant ages offered under the GI Bill of Rights were thor oughly discussed and clar ified. This initial group discussion was an excell ent beginning and several topics were suggested for the next panel. The special SUNDAY EVEN ING PROGRAM for October 14th will be presented by Chaplain Carter and the Post Choir.
