These two •VACs were members of the detachment which was inducted under the Gen/ John athan Wainwright Banner. At this time, Gen Wainwright \ms still a prisoner of the Japs. The ceremonies were held in the Grand Central Palace in N, Y. C. on November 1, 1944* The group was 1 sworn in by Col. Qveta Culp Hobby, then Dir ector of the Women l s Army ’Corps, and addressed by Mrs. Wainwright and her son; Out of this detachment of 203, twelve were Negroes. The only two to see service here were those named above, Beth of these HACs have rendered, val uable services to the Armed Forces.
