Back to Their Owners.
Kalamazoo has a consumers purchas
ing agency and at end of the firstquar
ter’s business declared a savings return
of 13 per cent to the members.
This co-operative movement cuts out
the profits of the speculators and helps
the people to invest their savings in
liberty bonds and War Savings.
The Pac. Co-operative League has
established a wholesale house in Los
Angeles, where branch co-operative
stores of Arizona can acquire supplies.
On another page is an interesting li -
tie story of how financiers and com
mercial organizatisns are at pres; nt
controling prices and production, but
are actually juggling wtth the destinies
of the nation.
Public ownership idea has captured
North Dakota. It owns alevators, mills
and banks; buys grain, makes flour and
sells it in competion with profiteering
corporations. It was a farmers’ idea,
now the commercialists say that 80 per
cent of the f armers of North Dakota
have gone crazy like a fox.
While Phoenix Chamber of
Commerce is “plugging” for the
‘open shop,” Houston, Texas,
has advanced to a mutual co-op
erative plan and union officers
and Chamber of Commerce com
mittees meet twice a month,
working closely together for mu
tual and civic advancement.
Thats the stuff which means en
lightenment and progress.
Organized workers are getting
rid of the “Rees” and the sooner
honest merchants and manufac
turers discard and fire out the
profiteers who have befouled their
profession, the sooner will confi
dence be restored. The omin
ous silence as the masses is now
finding expression in combina
tion and co-operation with or
ganized workers who are now
leading the people and assisting
them to organize politically and
socially for mutual protection
and benefit.

the Wickenburg district. inquiries by
subscribers are promptly answered, but
those emanating from non-subscribers
should inclose 10 cents for reply. It is
always a good rule for stockholders in
Arizona mining property to immediately

Wickenburg Is Accepted As a
Landing Station On the Air \

A letter received on X’mas by
Mayor Miller establishes the fact
that this city’s recent offort to es
tablish an aerial station for the
National Air Lines Association
have borne fruit.

tion from San Francisco and Los
Angeles to Coachella, California.
! Thence the proposed line comes
east to Blythe, Wickenburg and
; Phoenix to Tucson, El Paso and
the East, as designated by a
map accompanying the following

John Miller. Mayor Wickenburg;
Dear Sir; Relative to the subject of
establishing an official landing station
at Wickenburg on the transcontinental
air fine which we are completing be
tween New York and Los Angeles, wish
to advise that after considerable pre
liminary negotiations and careful study
of latest meteorological maps and re
ports by Dr. Ford Carpenter, one of the
greatest authorities in this country on
that subject, we have definitely decided
to make a routing byway of Wicken-,
buig. The inclosed blue print shows
clearly the points which will be touched.
Our Captains Mac Kola and Russell
! have left Los Angeles for the purpose
iof making final arrangements for the
establishment of these official stations
and will arrive in wickenburg very
shortly. They are instructed to call
; upon you and we will appreciate any
j assistance or courtesy you may be ab'e
to extend to them. They have f ull au
thority to make final decisions in the
name of the association, and any per
manent arrangements whice are made
with them wili be ratified by this office.
We haTe an official plane which w ill
visit your city shortly after the arrange
ments are made, inaugurating the field
and making an exhibition flight.. This
will afford an excellent opportunity for
those persons living in or near Wicken
burg who have never had an opportun
ty of seeing a piane close up to make
an examination and see the construc
i tion of a late model aeroplane. We
j would like to see considerable interest
i shown in this event and would be glad
to have as many as possible to make a
visit to the landing field on the day or
days which the plane will be at your

A telegram received today by
Mayor Miller on this matter con
veys the news that representa
tives of the Air Line Association
will arrive inside of four days to
j accept a tract of ground 500 x
■ 1100 feet or longer, and a meet
ing of city trustees and repre
sentative citizens is requested to
meet them to complete the ar
: rangements.
The desperate situation in the
Near East is revealed in a recent
cable from Herbert Hoover. “It
