bird skins are a number of entirely
new varieties. In the Sierra Mmlre
mountains of northern Chihuahua and

population in the remote past. The
bouses were built of stone and mud
and hid fallen down many years since,
and in so doing had broken the pot
tery and other utensils within. Those
built of adobe were in a better condi
tion and contained some interesting
specimens. They found fragments of
pottery and household implements, all
sufuciently similar to those of tho
Pueblo builders of tbe east, south and
north to show that they were connect
ed with them
