Portland, Oregon, where be goes to
look after important business. Fred

Ben Williams, jfrof. Doaglae, and
Walt r Douglas, together with Tom
Wright and Will Scott, left today for
an investigating trip into Mexico. We
do not know whether they are going
down to the coal fields or are investi
gating mining property, but they ex
pect to be gone several week and will
evidently cover quite a little territory.
Well the great contest it over and
the heavy jotters who put an inde
pendent candidate up against us have
learned one more point in regard to
the Australian ballot. The game waa
well got up ia every way but they
were not quite onto themselves when
they wtnt to the polia and walked into
the booths like a lot of wind-blown
hay setds, wrote In the name of the
Right lion. James Munch on
their bsllota and then quietly for

suckers were running about this
morning declaring that Jimmy bad
been counted oat and threatening to
have the election contested. It was
not very long, however, before they had
the little omission explained to them,

election were entirely forgotten.
