It would be the height of
folly to enter this field with any or
dinary car lhere are splendid cars to compete with in many
respects the best cars in America
A mediocre car even a iairly -good car would be wiped off
the market in this war of tho Fortirg
We know that well And we know the cars which we must
excel as well as their waketa know them
boetavewrkd forfojr years to get the MICHIGAN
right We hYe searched the Svhole field to get the best men to
build it
8ent out n te5t territories in that time 5000 f
V CVS and have watched every cars performance We have
added since the start over 300 improvements We have tested
and compared a thousand mens ideas regarding important
features
Last year in these test territories the MICHIGAN probably
oiitsplcl every car n its class 550 were sold in the Pittsburg dis
tuqt atone Our home city to 0k 70 Portland Ore took 1 62
Urn that same basis the country over the MICHIGAN would
have been the
dominant v jedium priced car
Beyond any question there is no car in America better built than
the IVllVrUVjAMN wc uuvc B b v v
i expense We have authorized for every part the highest grade of
I l i AnJ trn nn nninte which am called immaterial on
minor hidden details we have insisted on qualities which the
costliest cars very rarely use
And We have given these men four years to get ready We
gave them a year for the final perfections after all of them voted
that the car was right
So -when you consider these specifications when you com
pare them one by one with the othersbear in mind that this car
in all mechanical points Is the best that can be produced

BETTER THAN THE BEST OF ALL OTHERS

Look at the illustration of our New Fox Visible Typewriter shown above and compare it with any other
typewriter you have ever seen or used Here is a really visible typewriter note that the printing point is on ton in
plain sight and that the type bars rise from where they are lying and strike the platen in full view of the oper
ator and in directline of vision and that all of what you have written remains in full sight until the paper is re
moved from the typewriter Compare this with those old style typewriters that some firms are still advertiin
as visibles but on which the printing point is rteneatn tne typeoars and you have to look down into them orskekM
twecn them to see what you have written Touch a key in the keyboard and you change the qolor of your
writing instantly from black blue or purple to red Press the Tabulator Key at the left in front for 1
grupniiiK wining ic tuiiitjuuisiikaijr oi - o iim yiu iiun jo uur ucK opace ivev This moves
the carnage backward for making corrections or putting in punctuation This key also enables the operator to
erase a word of three letters and write one of four in its place Press the Stencil Key shown at the left front
for making stencils from which thousands of duplicate letters can be made Four rows of keys reduce the shift
ing one third The right Shift Key locks automatically for writing in all caps A positive automatic Line Lock
prevents you from writing beyond a predetermined line The ribbon travels in a zig zag line not straight
across from spool to spool as on others thus using all of the ribbon and making it last three or four times as lone
as on other typewriters The ribbon automatically re winds itself from one spool to the other without any atten
tion from the operator Garriages are interchangeable and run on ball bearing tracks Platens aie removable
