The halibut boat Helgoland called in . at Petersburg recently, southbound, with 100.000 pounds of halibut in her hold, which had been secured on the banks in three days. C'apt. Aubrey Simmons, of Careross, Y. T., was a southbound passenger recently on the Princess Mary. He bad with him nine fox skins for which he was ottered, but refused, $1.5.00 while in Juneau. Willard Jenkins and Miss Elsie Moore were married recently in Wran geli. The Sentinei of that city says of the groom: "He is a handsome, young ex-service man. He is industrious, having put in his whole time during the past year either in working or courting.” Robert Bnrdette Earl, well known resident of Skagwav, died in that city recently, after an illneso tof several months. For the past several years he had held a position in.»the auditor s office of the W. P. &YJ ity., before which he had been an eiapkiya of the N. C. Co. at St. Michael. According to the reflected*’.the -Ju neair police department for the year 1921. there were 85 persons arrested in that city during the 12 months. Of this number, 63 were charged with viola tions of the liquor laws. Duriog the last nine months of tha year 407 per sons in a state of intoxication were sent home by the police, no record hav ing been kept of this elass during- the first three months.
