C. A. and the Bannington boys, the former winners by a score of 35 to 45. The leads were held alter- nately until near the close when the North Adams follows ran up 10 points. Denley, Hollister, Colburu, Hitchcock and Buss played for Bennington and Dalley, La Fountain, Craven, O'Brien and Bishop for North Adams. The 2nd team played a preliminary with North Bennington which resulted in a score of 33 to 22 in favor of the second team. The North Adams boys bad more beef than the local fellows, but the playing nevertheless, was fast and; clean. ' - Walter Ford caught aii owl this morning on Adams street. It wsb not a stuffed owl, either, but a big-eyed chick of the hoot varietyrthat would send the shivers up one's 'back to hear in the wee, sma' hours. vThe owl was flrst seen early this morning In the vi cinity of the American house where it had evidently taken up its residence in the rear buildings during the night. Daylight caught it out on North street where it was unable to see Its way and it flopped from tree to tree' blindly un til it reached Adams street where it fell to the ground exhausted. Ford, who had been following it, had no trouble In capturing it and brought it on to Main street where hdj procured a box at a local hardware store, covered with wire.
