Herbert Keyes, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Keyes, ?pent a pleasant day at the home of hj* parents on Sunday. Miss Anna Lee Keyes is speeding her two weeks' vacation at her home. J. Edwin Treakle, wife and son, of Hrooklyn, N. Y., who have been, for the past two weeks, vis? iting in Mathews at the home of C. H. Treakle, left on Monday for their home. The lawn party for the benefit of Central Church will be held on the lawn at the church, at not at Mr. Ci. S. Marchant*.s residence,as advertised, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, August 8 and 9. The church lawn is large, and a good-sized assemblage is expected. We especially invite parties to come on Hay Rides from different parts of the county. Supper only 25c. We want to call the attention of the public to the Clam Hake at Mobjack ( Pliilpotts Wharf) on Aug. 19, for the benefit of Mob jack Lodge No. 273, I. O. O. F. Mr. Joe Drisgell still continues very sick. He is attended by a trained nurse. Miss Spencer. Mr. Harry Forrest and wife are visiting at the home of his parents Mr. and Mis. William Forrest. Miss Mary Hanks of Norfolk, was the pleasant guest of Misses Grace and Lottie Forrest last week for a few days. Miss Bva Saddler spent Sunday last with Miss Nellie Morgan. He improves very slowly. Miss Bessie Peede has returned from Richmond.
