"wish and perhaps not require such
an immense outlay of money as
'some seem to think. Dont com
pel your wives to sew and hire
hands. It is an uphill business
when you can get a good sewing
machino so easily. Think how
injurious to health it is to be
cramped all day over your needle
and sewing, when done by hand.
.And bo particular to remember
that if you want sewing machines
W. J. Slatter can supply your
wants. Every family, and every
married couple ought to have a
sewing machine. Even bachelors
would not lose much by .buying
one. We've got several, and are
not yet satisfied.
Somebody has lately given a
new coat and hat to the editor of
tho Alabama Era, for which the

where beauty and sweetness, good

happy hearts and solemn ones,

was passing after the ceremony
had been pronounced was asked
by a friend why we said "yes"
when the bridegroom was inter
rogated felt a kind of envy for
our friend's good fortune won

eat cake, drank cordial, egg
nog, boiled custard, and more
things than one could remember
: under an excitement like that
which pervades us this morning.
After a while of joyous time and
pleasant communing the hour for
parting drew near. The rum
bling of the omnibus was hoard
and the fair bride bade good bye
to her kind tutors and loved
schoolmates. Her trusting and
innocent heart betrayed in a tear
its regret to leave those so dear to
her, yet her love for the man
who now is her husband, o'erbal
nnced all. (Jreat Heavens ! who
could betray a woman's trust!
May he never do it, and may she
be able and willing in all the fu
ture to look back without the fain
test wish that her heart had loved
elsewhere.
