SHOT TO KILL
Cline and wife the strolling musi
cians who have been in Valentine sev
eral times this summer have got into
serious trouble in Alliance Cline
shot and piobably fatally wounded B
C Richardson a saloon keeper
Three shots were fired two of which
took effect upon Richardson one en
tering the stomach and one passing
through the top of his shoulder and
penetrating the neck The third
shot struck H Dismer proprietor of
a restaurant in which the shooting
occurred while he was trying to stop
the row The cause of the trouble
as near as we can gather was this
The musician and his wife had been
playing in Richardsons saloon sever
al hours previous to the shooting The
woman took offense at some remark
made in the saloon and Cline started
a fight and was knocked down by
Richardson who immediately turned
both out of the saloon and all trouble
was supposed to be over Cline how
ever procured a 38-caliber-revolver
and went on a hunt for Richardson
with the above result
Sheriff Sweeny has charge of Cline
and is holding him to await the result
of Richardsons injuries
