Prospered Nels Monson was down from Reliance Saturday, and called lot little visit witli the Argus-Leader man. Nels came to Lyman county in lh'j:}, the year when it was so dry that the early settlers almost lost track of the meaning of the word rain or water. There were a few others who came that same year but the most of them are gone, but Nels is a stayer and he is not the least bit sorry he stayed either, for he thinks he has done as well here as he could have done any where else, considering what he had to start with—an old team of horses, wagon and harness—the en tire outtit not worth a hundred dollars. But he tiled on his home stead just the suae and worked and plugged along as best he eould, buying a cow or a calf or a horse just as his pile would iermit, and today he has as good a half section of land as there is in the county with about fifty head of stock on it, a few pigs and chickens, and he farms about lil'ty acres of the land. The remainder of the place is given over to pasture, and the beauty of it is, that it is all his and no one has a mortgage on anything he has. He is alle to sit by his own lireside with contentment on bis face and say to the weather, "Gome as you will, I am hen ahead of you and roady for your blusters." Nels lias rtever allowed himself to go wild over the boom which has beerf* floating over the county so briskly the past few years, and it is for this that he now has his head above water. That is the cl&ss of men th it has prospered most in this couniry nod who will continue to prosper in the future. —Oacoma Argua-Loader. rr Services Sundays Class Meeting Preaching Sunday School Junior Livi^ue Epworth League 10:00 a. m. 10:30 a, m. 11:45 a. m. 3:00 p. m. 6:45 p. m.
