The storm area, which moved rapidly east ward over southern Texas, now cov- fers east Gulf states and extends north ward nearly to the lower Lake region. The cold wave in rear of this disturb ance has moved rapidly southward to the Gulf coast, and the temperature is now below 1 reeling thruout Texas, I except in the vicinity of Brownsville. The temperature fell over 30 dgrees in the southern half of Texas, and at time of report ranged from 4 degrees at Amarillo to 34 degrees at Browns ville. The lowest at Galveston was 24 degrees. Snow, sleet and rain have occured In the middle west and lower Missouri valley, and from the Missis sippi valley eastward to the coast, ex cept south Atlantic states. Northwest storm warnings continue on in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi coasts. Pre cipitation bas been heavy in Louisi ana, Mississippi, Alabama and west en Tennessee. , The weather in this vicinity will be generally fair tonight and Tuesday, with rising temperature Tuesday.
