Egg plant and peppers are looking fine. Everybody in Port Richey is busy just now. Randall came up from St. Peters burg, Tuesday. Mr. Pinkham, of Mass., is building a house north of J. H. Casey’s. Dr. G. W. Randall is building a house on his tract in Section 4. Mr. Davis, of Michigan, is building a new house west of Mr. Malstroms. Toney DeVreis and F. I. Grey are building new houses on their tracts in Section 33. W. H. Cole, of the P. O. district has sold his residence to Mr. Townsend, of Pennsylvania. J. G. Holzschriter is clearing five five acres of land which will be add ed to his nursury. Cornell and Poole are painting the McNatt building which is being used for school purposes. Mr. Clark an inspector for the growers’ and Shippers’ league is stop ping at Hotel Richey. Dr. Paul, of Grand Rapids, is build ing a 20-room house and Case on the lot north of the hardware store. Inspectors are busy looking over the groves in this vicinity but this far no citrus canker has been found. It is expected that quite a number of new houses will be in process of construction as soon as lumber can be obtained. Rev. Dr. Tomkies conducted di vine service in the school building Sunday P. M. He will hold another service in the same place Nov. 29th. Tony De Vries has purchased the Mcßae lot so called, containing 58 acres west of Lynn W. in Sect. 4. He is to cut it in 5 acres lots and place it on the market. Grey-Casey. A pleasant event of the week was the wedding of Frank I Grey and Miss Mary Casey two popular young peo ple of this town which took place in Tampa Thursday Nov. 19. The bride is a native of NobTesville, Indiana, coming here with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Casey a year and a half ago and Mr. Grey came here from Lynn, Mass., last fall. Mrs. Ballard, of Eldorado Springs, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Gooch is settled in her cottage on Bay st. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Economos, of Tarpon Springs were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. H. E. Whitford last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis and daughter Miss Alice, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jordan motored to Crystal Beach last Thursday. Miss Alice Lewis is now the happy possessor of a fine row boat, recently purchased from Mrs. H. M. Phelps. Miss Lewis is now not only enjoying the water herself but is kindly en tertaining her friends with rides on the bay. Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Gooch of Bell flower, 111., arrived Tuesday evening and are comfortably located in their cottage on the Bay. They were ac companied by their granddaughter, Miss Fannie Phillips, of Kansas City, who will remain with them during the winter. W. c7t. U.’S Adjourn. Atlanta, Nov. 18.—The forty-ninth annual General conference of the Wo men's Christian Temperance Union ended here today. Selection of a place of meeting in 1915 is expected to be made here by the executive committee. Gause was transacting busi ness in Clearwater Wednesday. Mrs. B. G. Scribner is still on the sick list but is slowly improving. W. W. Clark, William and Albert Pritchard spent Sunday in Tampa. F. Dannenroann has just received a fine bird dog,lrish setter, from Geor gia. Mrs. A. M. Campbell remains sick but is thought to be a little better at Present. Otis Davenport, of Sutherland Col lege preached here Sunday in place of Rev. Hodnett who is away. Mrs. Willing and son, of Ashtabula, Ohio, arrived last week and will spend the winter at D. F. Robinsons. Grandma Gause who has been quite sick is very much better and Mrs. Dekle has returned to her home in Tampa. Mrs. R. E. Gause has been quite sick with a severe attack of pleuricy but is better now, Dr. Albaugh wal in attendance. W. W. Clark and sons, William and Robert and Albert Pritchard and Chas. Myers attended the funeral Sat urday afternoon at Curlew Church. Clarence Charlton, of Grand Rapids, Mich., son of J. F. Charlton arrived Tuesday night and intends to make this place his home. He has been visiting relatives and friends in New Orleans, La., on his way here. This community was shocked to hear of the sudden death last week of Mr. Stephen Dickson. Mr. Dick son was well known here having worked for W. W. Clark for a good many years and was held in the high est esteem by every body. BETTER FEELING VERY WIDE-SPREAD. Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 18.—The opening of the Federal Reserve Bank in this city relieved approximately $2,200,000 of reserves here. The new bank start ed with $4,600,000 deposits. The bank’s governor, Joseph A. McCord, said today: “I believe that the opening of the Federal Reserve Banks will prove the greatest of all possible aids to the restoration of business confidence in the South.” Cotton Price Boosted. Dallas, Tex., Nov. 18.—Officials of the Federal Reserve Eank at Dallas say the amount of reserve released was front $6,000,000 to $7,000,000. The price of spot cotton, middling basis advanced approximately one cent a pound during the last week. Middling is quoted as seven and one half cents. Mallory Liner Injured. NEW \ ORK, Nov. 18—The Mallory Line steamship Comal, for Galveston, and the White Star Line Baltic, for Liverpool, collided late today as both ships were outward bound through Ambrose Channel. The Comal re turned to her dock where it was found that she had been seriously damaged and her sailing was cancelled. The Baltic apparently was not damaged, and proceeded to sea. Britain Helps Belgians. LONDON, Nov. 18.—(7:38 p. m.)— The Foreign Office today announced the British government had contribu ted $500,000 to the Belgian govern ment for the purchase of foodstuffs for destitute Belgians. WAR COSTING BRITISH $3,000,000 EACH DAY. London,. F[ov. 16.—Premier Asquith stated in the house of commons this afternoon that the war already was costing Great Britain from $4,500,000 to $5,000,000 daily.
