WHEREAS, President Dwight D. Eisenh
i-ower has,by proclanat*on,designated Sat
i urday May 17, 1958 as the ninth annual
I observance of ARMED FORCES DAY; and,
. . I WHEREA.S, the armed forces of the Un
• j-ited States have steadfastly served as
; champions ofthe security of our country;
* \ and,
WHEREAS, President Eisenhower, in -his
^proclamation, has directed the Secretary
^p>f Defense and the Secretaries of the
iArmy, the Navy and the Air Force,and the
jSecretary of the Treasury on behalf of
I the Coast Guard, to mark the day with
! appropriate ceremonies, to arrange for
j demonstrations and display at armed for
i ces installations, to invite participa
! tion by representatives of all religious
j faiths in such ceremonies in order that
I the interdependence of our security and
I ti e deep and abiding religious faith of
I Americans maybe recognized, and to wohk
j hand in hand with Civil authorities in
j arranging other supporting activities:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MIKE STEPOVICH,
jGovernor of the Territory of Alaska do,
I hereby proclaim Saturday,May 17 1958 as
I ARMED FORCES DAY '
I in the Territory of Alaska and ask that
j all our citizens display the flag of the
| United States of America,

ADAK, ALASKA received a Navy Honor Stud
ent Certificate upon graduation from the
Navy’s Storekeeper School on April 4,
195*8 at the II. S. Naval Training Center,
San Diego, California.
Huskey earned the admiration of the
Navy and her classmates for maintaining
an average of 95->77, the highest schola
stic average of her class during the 12
week course of instruction.
Huskey has received orders to report
for duty at the U. S. Naval Air Station,
Alameda, California»
Before entering the Navy in September
1957, she was a graduate from Grant Un
ion High School,DclPasoHgts 6, California
and was employed by the Aero-Jet General
Corporation,,
The Storekeeper School is one of twe
nty-three basic and advanced training
schools at the U. S. Naval Training Cen
ter, San Diego, California.
The Navy developed its first radio
guidance for missiles ovejg 60 yrs ago.
