UNALAKLEET SCHOOL Guerie Tenson is organist and li brarian. Class in Algebra will soon begin. The Assistant school teacher is not yet here. Alice Kootok was accidently shot in the head Saturday by Harry Mi chaels. The shot struck at the right and above the right eye glancing on the skull it passed about an inch under the scalp. Our teacher re moved the shot. This accident did not keep Ali:e from coming to school the following morning. Little boys should not be permitted to handle firearms. Katherine Anasogak has tlae record of being the most regular in attend ance missing some three days in two vears. If our principal is called awry from the room some of the larger pupils, planningto teach, take charge. By so doing they arc getting a prac tical training, which is of much help to them. The pupils of the High School have made themselves at home,by deco rating their room. Rande Johansen is in school again, julia may come later. We can hardly wait for the long nights to come for we want to try our Hollow wire lights. Charlie Williams is in St.M. now. nope to see him back in school soon TOWN TALK Mr. Rock and family have returned from Egavik that their children may attend school. George Kootok’s family are here also for the same purpose. The church has a new organ and a much needed one. The school bell is once more ring ing. Mrs. Bradley, who has spent the summer at Golovin has returned in order that her children may be in school. Henry Ivanoff of Shaktolik is in school again this year. The dcparment has sent in a good supply of school necessaries. Aaron Panueok is the chief clerk and manager of Dwyer and Steuhauser's store while Charlie goes for our mail. Misha Ivanoff and his family have gone to Shaktolik where Misha has charge of the school. You can not touch jovial Eric John son these days with a ten foot pole. A nine pound boy who came the 12th. iust. is the explanation. Mother cr.d son doing well. Mrs. Ryan has returned from camp for school advantages. \Vc feel like handing a bouquet to the parents who year after year, at the beginning of the school session, return to the village that their child ren may he in school. We appreciate more than we are able to say, this cooperation of the parents. Rev.Hjerpe, secretary of the Swed ish Evnagelical Mission,who has been looking after the mission at Golovin and unalakleet.has returned to Chi cago. Charlie Steinhauser’s proposed trip to Nome has been given up.
