The recent declines in live stock and

Specialists of the Bureau or Markets
United States Department of Agricul

consul general at Auckland recently
Teceived by the department rump
otonir in Knw Zealand brought on
Anu 1 9 rents a pound sirloin
ov rents corned brisket
Anfo iwa nt mntton 11 cents
chops 13 cente neck and breast of
mutton 7 cents side of mutton 10
cents and veal 9 cents These prices
are based upon thenormal rate of
48665 to the pound sterling
The report also shows that between
March 1 1920 and March 1 1921 fine
steers in New Zealand dropped 365
per 100 pounds selling at 1046
prime and choice steers 362 at 949
to 1021 plain and ordinary steerp
a m nf 7 nn to SG0O cows and
heifers 522 at 487 to 973 Bt
wethers lost 271 per head selling
at 462 to 747 ewes 67 cents at
389 to 608 and lambs 182 at
340 to 644
Comparisons of these prices with
prices in American markets is impos
sible because of a difference in stan
dards of grading in the two counties
For example a choice steer in New
Zealand might be placed in spme oth
