The Arizona Electric Tele-1
phone Company has been incor- j
porated at St. Johns, the foll
owing is the personell o! the

Schuster, Vice-President; Mar
tin Jensen. Secretary; J. B
Patterson and J. R Hulet, Di
rectors. The capital stock is
one hundred thousand dollars,
with the same number of shares
ai one dollar each, and the on ,
ject of the company is to con j
nect the towns of Navajo and
Apache Counties with a tele
phone system. This will be a
big step in the right direction.
In Judge Fltnn’s court Monday
Ignacio Montoya paid a ten!
dollar tine for disturbing the 1
peace and harmony of a Mexi-j
can dance.
On Wednesday John Rhodes
was bound over to await the ac
tion of the grand jury in the
sum of tive hundred dollar bond
which was not given. He plead
guilty to assault with intent to
commit murder, he having tried
to reduce the head of one W. M. i
Pope to pulp with a heavy met j
al cuspidore Sunday night.!
Pope was unable to appear in |
court until Wednesday. Both
are colored.
George Sowers and Don M.
Chisholm have leased the Wins
low Opera House and will open
up a roller skating rink therein
under the firm name of Chi>”
holm & Sowers. They will al
so rent the hall for dances and j
when a good show troupe comes
along it will be accommodated, j
Every other town any size now
supports a rink,and why should
Winslow be in the rear of the
times in the line of amusements?
They expect everything to be
running smoothly in a couple or
three weeks
J. G. McKibban, of Phoenix,
has been here a couple of weeks
soliciting orders for hosiery,etc.

Fourth of July Excursions:
Tickets for the above will be
sold as follows: Dates of sale,
July 3d and 4th; limits: Contin
uous passage in each direction;
going trip to begin on day of
sale; final limit for return, July
5, ’O3. Between any two sta-,
tions on the Coast Lines and
Grand Canyon Railway east of
Needles, round-trip excursion
tickets will be sold at the low-!
est first class one-way fare.
Agents at Flagstaff,Williams, j
Grand Canyon, Seligman,Peach
Springs. Hackberry and King
man will sell excursion tickets
to any station on S F.., P. & P.
Railway, and return at the low
est first-class one-way fare for
| the round trip.
| The National Baptist Conven
tion will convene September 16,
1906, at Los Angeles. For this
occasion we will sell tickets
from the east to both San Fran
cisco and Los Angeles at half
rates or one fare for the round
trip.
For the meeting of the Na
tional Educational Association
to be held in San Francisco
July 9th to 13th, 1906, tickets
| will be sold at rate of one fare
for round trip. Tickets will
also be sold to Los Angeles
at the same rate.
Aside from the rates already
announced for the big conven
tions in California Hiis year, we
|will provide additional oppor
tunities for easterners to visit
|Cu lifornia at low excursion
j rates during the entire summer,

We will sell first-class round
trip tickets to San Francisco,
Los Angeles, San Diego and re

October 31, 1906. and as afore
stated will be in addition to
those authorized for the conven

will be announced later.

For these excursions tickets
will be on sale July 2-3, August
7 8 9, September 8 and 10. Good
for 90 days.
