A pleasant party was given at Mrs. Wing’s Thursday evening in honor of Misses Curtis and Livers and Mr. J.Logan Johnson, all of whom expect to leave town soon. L H. Ledger, chairman of the grievance committee of the Brotherhood of Locomotive En gineers, was in Winslow this week conferring with the local officials. Miss Marguerite Curtis, with her little brother and sister.leave today for Phoenix, where their father has recently purchased a home where they expect to reside in the future. The Santa Fe is about to con vert 337 single deck stock cars into double deck cars in order to take care of the sheep shipments. The work will be done at the Topeka shops. Rafael Rivera,a Mexican sheep heider about thirty years old employed by the Sawyer, Spell mire & Lyons Sheep Co., died at one of the company’s camps Monday night. Miss Margaret Van Easton, of Long Beach, Cal., who has been visiting with her father in Albu querque, stopped of this week to visit with Mrs. Clifford, before returning home. Dr. J. B. Cutter, for the past five years surgeon in charge of the Santa Fe Hospital at Albu querque, has resigned to become chief surgeon in the Los Angeles Emergency Hospital. Tuesday night Judge Flinn at his residence performed the cere mony which united in marriage Miss Etta Bryant and Mr. Louis E. Garvin. The contracting par ties are well known here. A small fire broke out early yesterday morning in the coal shed of the J. J. Hayward res idence.
