Large Addition to Califor
nia Forest. Washington, Feb. 27, 1908. — The President has just signed a proclamation creating additions amounting to nearly 600,000 acres to the Modoc National For est in northeastern California. With the exception of a small area in the northern part of Las sen County, Jill the lands put within the forest bv this procla mation are situated in Modoc County. The axact area of the additions is 570,000 acres, which brings the total area of the forest up to 859,018 acres. The land proclaimed a part of the Modoc Forest will be put under admin, istration at once, with supervi sor C. E. Rachford, whose head quarters is at Alturas, California, in charge. The additions to the forest have a stand ot valuable yellow pine, which will amount to several million feet and will average 12,000 feet tothe acre. There is little or no agricultural land in the addition. LETTER LIST. Whereas, the Town Council of the Incorporated Town of Wins low, Territory of Arizona, be lieving it for the best interests of the said town, have accepted and adopted that certain act of the 24th Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Arizona known as Chapter 98, by reso lution made and-entered the,2lst day of February 1908, in meet ing assembled; and.
