Rains Have Aided
Tonto Basin Range
PHOENIX—Late summer rains
have helped grazing conditions in
the Tonto Basin, according to As
sistant Forest Supervisor J. H.
Sizer, wiio returned to the Phoenix
office of the United States forest
service after two weeks spent
counting cattle in portions of the
Tonto range. Stockmen, he said,
ought to get through the coming
winter with losses no greater than
normal.
The rains .however, were uneven
ly distributed and the result has
been “spotty” feed, good in some
districts and indifferent in others.
The general condition was describ
ed as “fair.” *
