Apaches Hold Lead Over
Florence During Ist
Half Os Game
After suffering a 19-18 heart
breaker by the Amphitheatre Pan
thers, the rejuvenated Nogales
Apaches ran rampant against the
much favored Florence Gophers
Friday night at the local stadium,
only to fall prdy to the tricky Go
pher air attack during the last half.
Early in the first quater, Harry
O’Hagin, Apache fullback, skirting
his own right side of the line for
20 yards, crossed the Gopher goal
line for the first Apache tally.
O’Hagin passed to Logan for the
extra point.
The second Apache tally also came
in the first quarter when A1 Whip
ple tore through on an off-tackle
smash to score standing up. Hie
try for extra point was good.
At the end of the first quarter
Florence was trailing 14-0.
Florence scored on a delayed
sleeper just before the first half
ended. In the last half they scored
the rest of their tallies on passes
also.
Rivas Scored the last touchdown
for Nogales on a quarterback sneak.
The extra point was good.
Nogales meets Amphitheatre here
tonight.
