Our correspondent, who personally Isltdd'ho ; Prietas camp last week found the camp very lively. At the Creston tbe roasters and cyanide plant are in ull swing treating stuff at the rate of 100 tons a day. The method of treatment is unique . and these plants are the oniy ones in the world which are adopting the method in vogue at Prietas. The tailings are mixed with low grade concentrates and then passed through the roaster with salt, in order to convert the silver into the form of chlorides. From the roaster tbe pulp goes on to a cooling floor and from there to the cyanide tanks, each tank taking 100 tons. Splendid results are obtained, much of the silver as gold be ing recovered. Mr. D. Richardson is in charge of the roasters and not Mr. McPherson, Jr., the latter being a fore man on the roasters. Hincle, the representative of the Morris and Butts transportation and shipping company, of Kansas City, leaves the city next Sunday for the Untted States, where he will remain for sometime. When seen yesterday by a reporter of The Herald bo said that the high price of gold had driven the firm that he represented out of the Mexican market. The company had decided that until such time as the rate of ex change got better they would not re quire a representative in the cliy or in the republic, and so he had been re called. Mr. Hinkle came here several months ago, just when silver began to decline in value; and since then tbe company have found that they could not do business in Mexico. Before the decline of silver of late there was very little margin on the importation of bogs, but since the great decline of late they could be bought cheaper in Mexico than in Kansas City. The decline of silver is giving the Mexican native productions a great ! advantage in almost every department of trade. Mexican Herald. Pont Tubacro Spit and Smoke Vonr Lire iirif.
