A mass meeting of citizens was held in the afternoon. and remlutions were adopted requesting the Chinese to leave Truckee before morning. Cnnned Salmon. The salmon pecking season in Alaska is over. and the news thus (or received is exceptionally good. Estimates mode by osnners place the total Alaskan pack at 300.000. The Columbia peck this year will not exceed 350,000 cases. and not I more than 300,000 cases of this first-class. The onnuers are looking for good prices. While the Alaska pack is 125.- 000 cases greater than last year. there is a greater diminution in the Columbia yield. R. & N. 00.. after perenunlly looking after the field, has decided to ex tend and increase the steamboat service ‘ at his company between Seattle and that Lower Sound.
