It is reported, says the Ashland Tidings, that the people of Jack sonville have offered to pay the Oregon and California railroad company 190,000 to have the railroad brought to3 or near, th.eir town. A public or private meet ing of the citizens was held one dav last week and a. telegram was sent to Thos. G. The Oregon construction com pany, who have the contract for building the Baker division of tho O.K. &X. railroad, have made arrangements with AY. J. Hawkins & Co., by which the 3.000 Chinese controlled by the latter firm, now at work on the Xorthern Pacific, will be transferred to the Baker City line as soon as the Northern Pacific force is disbanded about a month Jience. About 2,000 Chinamen for the Canadian Pacific railroad are ex pected to arrive in San Francisco on the 13th of April, in the Steam ship Oceanic. PLAIN TRUTHS The blood is the foundation of life, it circulates through every part of the body, and unless it is pure and rich, good health is impossible. If disease has entered the system the only sure and quick way to drive it out is to purify and enrich the blood. These simple facts are well known, and the highest medical authorities agree that nothing but iron will restore the blood to its natural condition; and also that all the iron preparations hitherto made blacken the teeth, cause head ache, and are otherwise injurious. Brown's Iron Bitters will thor oughly and quickly assimilate with the blood, purifying and strengthen ing it, and thus drive disease from any part of the system, and it will not blacken the teeth, cause head ache or constipation, and is posi tively not injurious. A fifth daughter began to show signs of Consumption, and when the physician was consulted be ouicklv said "Tonics were re - utred ; ana wnen tnlormed mat e elder sister was talunc Erotos Iron Bitters, responded "that is a good tonic, talec it."
