Then we come, to the semi-fads; regular styles with the added touch given by fancy cuffs, pockets, etc' Then we have the ultra-styles characterized by special features in lapels, the sweep of - garments, their length, volumn, fancy pockets, cufTs and .distinctive style character the latter, of course, are much sought after' by young men and this class of goods must be bought carefully as there is a great deal on the market that looks well but ia not trustworthy in workmanship. Our styles are from the SINCERITY workshops; a big thing in itself and the best assurance that anyone can give you for quality as well as style. H , ' . .... , J Additional L'Anse News. afi H. Co. Wins Suit. The claim of Albert 3. Bigelow, that the attempt of the Calumet & Hccla company to vote a larpe block of stock ii the Osceola Consolidated Mining ompany last year wus an act in the restraint of trade was denied by the U. S. circuit court of appeals Tuesday, the decision of the lower court in dismiss ing his suit being affirmed. It was held that no unlawful act or intent had bet-n shown, that the pro posed voting of Osceola stock, legally held by the C. & H., was strictly ac cording to the laws of Michigan and that neither the Michigan "Anti-Mon opoly law" nor the Anti-Trust law had' any bearing on the case. It ia stated that the Bigelow inter- eats have given notice of an appeal to the U. S. supreme court, which may delay final settlement for a period of two years. . Completes Contract. Saturday last Joseph Btuhey, who had a contract to haul 0C0 tons of Graphite ore from the mine to Taylor switch, completed the same last week. Three hundred tons of Graphite ore have already been shipped to the factory at Detroit, from Taylor, and the re mainder will follow during the coming summer. Supt. R. C. Williams informs us that there will be no mining done this year, as they have enough graphite on the stock pile at the mine to last for some time. . 1 Seeks Nomination as Clerk. Frank E. McKindles, son of M rs. Eliza beth McKindles.of thU villagers seeking the nomination for Clerk of the villuge of South Range. V So far no opposition has developed. Mr. McKindles is holding the treasurer ship at present, having been appointed last fall. He has filled the office of treas urer very creditably, and we are safe in saying that he will make an ex cellent clerk, being well fitted for and capable of holding such a position. In English towns, a Canadian visitor declares In the Queen, the foreigner runs out to the pavement just to see that glorious chariot called a milk float go by that gay bit of a two wheeled thing, white and yellow, white and b!ue, or re 1, white and blue, with the shinins trass churn erect at the side, the reins coming over the sb!n ing brass rail In front, the little square seat Inserted at the reas and the char io.eer standing at the back like Den Hur and driving as much like that hero as in a modern town where even motor cars are unknown is practica ble. Then the English milkman who comes on foot, with a modern yoke on his shoulders, and swinging at each side a brass-bound tin pail. In which Is a queer little measuring dipper. Who could wish to bnve milk delivered In glass bo 1 1 lee, with a paper-boaled top, when ho can have It measured at his door Into his own Jug in this quaintly curious fashion? What do microbes amount to when compared with tbe Joy of the medieval! SHREWD SCHEME OF MOTHER. No Roseate Postcard Without Thorn of Suggestion. Its Harold's mother we'll call him Harold went abroad a month" ago, leaving Harold - under the ) somewhat unsubstantial control of his elder sin ters. In Fplte of the Itemized directions with which even unto the moment of final lavetaklng sh had not erased to bombard him, Harold's mother was far from sure that her efforts woiiIi have any lasting effect. ' Her voyage was more or less dis turbed by these doubts, but before sho landed on the other side she had de termined on a course of action. Like all small boys, Harold Is most covet ous of picture postcards and had looked forward to a harvest from his mother's trip. He got It. v Every day she sent at least one card. And. whatever else It bore In the way of Inscription, there was not one which failed of this Introduction: "Just as soon ss you get this go and brush your teeth." . Made Carlyle "Shell Out." Rev. Thomas Alexander, a Presby 'terlan minister, long resident In Chel sea and well known as a brother Scot, was most anxious to know Carlyle. but had no opportunity of getting an In troduction to him. One day in tbe Kind's road he saw Carlyle coming in his direction and took advantage of the opportunity by going up to the sage and saying: "Thomas Carlyle, I believe?" Carlyle's reply was: "Tom Alexander, I know!" Tbey became good friends, and later Mr. Alexander wrote to Carlyle for a subscription to-, ward a school building fund, and Car lyle wrote back a refusal In doggerel, whereupon Mr. Alexander replied that If he did not send him 5 ($25) he would sell his poetry to a collector or publish it The 6 was at one forthcoming. . Retributive Justice. A case of retributive JusYlce, as far as It goes. Is reported from Parts.. An attendant at the Andra hospital, where physiological Investigations are belug made, discovered that a doten rabbits had been stolen from their butches. The loss of the rabbits themselves was not a source of trouble to the au thorities, but the' fact that they had been Inoculated with Various germ has 'bad a disturbing effect. It is known that the rabbits had all been Inoculated, and several of them were tuberculous or typhoid subjects.
