When drawn from the udder of the cow to the Milk Protector
tlje cover of the pail keeps out all hair and dandruff, also filth and
odor from the stable. The milk is then removed .to the milk

Better Flavor.

.by the motion of the cars or wagon, and escapes being churned,

How to Use Bottled Milk.
Do not Open the jar until desired for use. Put in a refrigerator
or on the cellar I ottom. If cream is desired for tea or coffee the
jar can be placed on the table and unsealed when wanted for use,

(wildings. Everything burned like tinder.
The fire engine arriv d e;iriy and whs kept
busy saving the adjoining buildings,
which were in imminent peril. But the
evaporator burned. So did tne stave and
heading mill and machines belonging to
Frank Grccnman, situated alongsides. All
went up in smoke in an incredibally short
spiicc of time. The best Industry Bancroft
had is goue, and about the next best is
sadly crippled. Tuihill's buildings and
machinery is estimated at $4,000. He had
little or no Insurance. Grcenman's loss is
about $1,000. with no Insurance.

The annual encampment, department of
Ohio, Grand Army ot the Kepublic, Is
to bo held at Toledo, Ohio, in April. The

brood mare Fanny Mapes, on Sunday ItH.
The old mare vrus taken sick on Siturdy
wilh inflnmntion .f the kidneys and died
in just 24 hours. From the catalogue, of
Dewey and Stewart we quote: This is one
of the few brood mares that is fyiowu to
every render of tutf literature, imd every
lover of tho trolling horse. Wo have bred
from her ten ci-Ks, tight of which are
living. We have sold of her produce five
animals, (one as a yearling and two as
weanlings) for the aggregate sum of
$29,800. Almost every one knows of the
marvelous speed , 5, 35, 33 J, 33, 2:16J
and stamina' of Jerome Eddy, and his
wonderful success' in tho stud, having
closed the eeasmi of 1887 with earnings of
near $70,000 to his credit. Geo. Milo, full
brether to Eddy.shows great speed and has
as fine colts as auy horse'. Lurry W.,
himself a trotter, is sire of the wonderful
Texas colt that as a three ycilr old showed
a half a milo in 1:10 and a quarter in 33
seconds, and others of equal promise.
Edmore, owned by Dr. Gaibrailh, of'Pon
tiac, is a model in conformation and gBit
and shows colts ef great quality. Fenny
was a bay mare 13 hands high and w as 20
years old.
