rear. as heretofore, and the school to
be held in a suitable building in the
town ol W’hml instead ol the present
place in the church.
A representative vote was cnM and
everything moved along smoothly.
3 \ car Homestead Bill Now a Law .
The year homestead bill which
has hung lire lor <o many months.has
at last become a law. It allows proof
after 3 years residence, with 5 months
absence from claim each year. This
will surely lie welcomed by all of the
homesteaders, aud will materially as
sist in the settlement and develop
ment of homestead countries. “Every
thing comes to those who wait,’’ was
sure right in the al awe case.
Several Buildings Going Up.
Th< re is considerable building
lieiiig done in Woml and surrounding
territory, and following are a few ol
the parties who are doing it:
Frank Hakl has about finisht-d a
house and barn of good dimension*
on his claim.
Messrs Ingerham and Lewis have
completed a 12x22 foot house on lots
in the northwestern part of town.
U. Wilson is erecting a residence.
feet, on property west of the
Fairview hotel.
Geo. Howard has a 12x2b foot
dwelling under construction, in the
northwest part of town.
C. E I me! has just finished a 12x20
foot house on the claim.
IVss Ferguson has nis house and
other buildings on the claim about
finished.
The VonSeggern Bros. A; Utz lum
ber office and sheds arc well under
way and will lie completed soon.
