This week pre. scuts no social topic for me to dwell up on, so I will bave to write upou a legal one. The lawsuit between Davidson, Napier and Duke, was tried before K-q. Geo. N. McKeunou, Saturday, at V. M. Grey's store. This suit was quite a complicated one. Duke first sueu Dr. Davidson tor damage done his aud Napier's crop by stock, on account of bad fencing, which according to his testimony the doctor proposed to mku good. Davidson then sued Napier for balance due on reuu Southall and I'adgHt were tho attorney's, the former fur Duke aud the latter for Davidson. John and Waller Frazier. two of Godwin's gallaut beaux, passed through Dark's Mill one day last week. Mr. Davy Dirtch, of Columbia, is teaching school al this place; he hasj a very large school aud we wish him much success. M r. J. T. Mr. John Hammonds, of Dark's Mill, attended preaching at New Hope last Sunday week. Mr. George Mahon Is laying very ill at his home near West Point. Mr. Lize Fitzgerald, of Theta, passed through our burg last Thursday.
