Next year the new law will really go
fully into effect. ' No wagon tax will be
payable next year but instead the
wagon will have to haul oii the roads
of the county. The buggy tax is reduc
ed to 51.00. .This will bring additional
thousands of loads of gravel and rock
to the highways. -
So far tho.-e has been little difficul
ty about the enforcement cf the com
mutation law. Mr. Wilkes statod that' I
only l,hreo or four warrants had been j
issued against; parties who rolured or
failed to work the loads. A few mare ;
warrants miry be ecessary but tae
number ' is very small as compared
with the thousands in the county who
are libable for the road commutation!

Driggera, a farmer, who climaxed the
shooting by killing himself, are report
ed improved at a local hospital today.
The shootyig occured following a
quarrel , between Driggers and his
brother, Edward Driggers, the former,
who was said to have been drinking,
became so threatening, according to
witnesses, that the sheriff was called,
and when that official approached
