OUR NEW STORE
OPENS
Saturday May 21st
We take this means of announcing to the people of
Durant and the trade territory surrounding it, that
our big new store opens Saturday, May 21st, with a
goodline of NEW GOODS, IN A NEW STORE and at
NEW PRICES.
We have scoured the markets and bought heavi
ly of good merchandise in all lines, paying the spot
cash for it and getting it at the lowest price obtain
able. In selling merchandisee we will follow the same
policy of sellingCHEAP for cash. By operating a cash
store, we will eliminate all the expenses of bookkeep
ing and collecting, to say nothing of losses, and can af
ford to mark our goods at a much smaller margin of
profit than can the fellow with all these heavy addi
tional costs to bear.
As yet we are not prepared to quote .prices on in
dividual articles. But, dray load after dray load of
merchandise is coming in and we cordially invite you
to call around Saturday and get acquainted, and look
over what we have to offer you.
The store is owned and operated by Lynn Click and
C. Z. Houghton. The former has been associated with
W. L. Townsend & Co. for years and is known to hun
dreds of people. The latter has been in the business
here for years, both with Perkins Brothers Co., and
the Jenkins Dry Goods Company, and he likewise is
well known over the territory.
Both of us will be here to welcome you Saturday, and
every day thereafter.
