AND PICNIC BIG SI C C&SS
The Wyandotte Oddfellows’ autiuai
stag picnic and banquet. held Satur
day, August 24. was acclaimed by
many members and guests u> the most
successful ever held. The picnic, held
at the Island House golf course on
Grosse He. featured the golf finals,
archery, horseshoe pitching, a tug-of
war between the past grands and a
picked team of huskies from the rest
of the lodge and a ball game, was an
event that will be remeinliered for a
long time. The picnic was followed by
a stag banquet held at the Timbers,
where over 100 members aud guests
were served. After the banquet various
prizes and awards were made.
Piizes were awarded in the golf fin
als to Roy Patchin. who had a low
score of 81, V. Barues, J. liume, C.
Barnes and P. Thompson. The guest

a special prize for the shortest diive,
to M. Simpson. Consolation prizes
were given to W. Schultz, C. Brough
ton, A. Sehrock. 11. Steinhauer, F.
Boomer, W. Belknap and W. Show

Those interested in archery were
pleased to have the professional advice
of F. Boomer and E. Durand. The
lodge is grateful to them for btinging
their buwx and arrows and targets,
and it is hoped that archery will con
tinue to be a feature of future out
ings. Prizes in archery were awarded
to F. Kolb, C. Barnes. H. Girardin
and P. Reuter.
The horseshoe pitching contest
which was sponsored by Bill Stark,
.found favor with everyone who at

loff. W. Smith. F. Kolb, H. Gerard
and H. Girardin.
The past grands, led by George Hoff
man were overthrown in the Uig-of
war. by a team led by Bill Schultz.
It was the first time the past grands
had been defeated in three years. A
fine trophy was aw-arded to Bill and
he w’ill be the proud iiosaessur of it
until next year, when the past grands
will have a chance to regain it.
The grand prize was won by Bill
Carothers, who claims that he. won it
through sheer luck.
At 7 o'clock in the evening, a ban
quet was held at “The Timbers” on the
Dix-Toledo road. Mayor Louis W.
Behm was one of the guests.
The members of the various com
