MARINE CORPS LEAGUE AUXILIARY The feather party sponsored by the Down River Marine Corps League Auxiliary' held November 14 was a success netting $326 which will be placed in the rehabilitation fund. The Auxiliary will make a Christ mas donation of $75 to the conva lescent hospital at Damath Falls, Oregon and also a donation of $lO to the Marine hospital at Berkeley, California. Mrs. Agnes Romatowski was ap pointed legislative chairman of the G. I. Bill of Rights and Mrs. Lillian Qualey was named raffle chairman of meeting nights. National pres ident, Mrs. Edna Mae Standing ad dressed the mothers on methods by which they could help the war ef fort. Among them 'were buying bonds, helping in hospitals. Dona tions for Selfridge field hospital were pledged at the meeting. On behalf of chapter 144, Mrs. Moss pledged one dozen metal bed lamps for the hospital. Chapter 30 of Detroit is sponsor ing a luncheon card party to be held at the Metropolitan building, Detroit, at 12:30 p.m., December 6. Funds from the sale of tickets will be used to aid hospitalized soldiers. A pot luck Christmas party is planned for the meeting of Chap ter 144 to be held Monday, Decem ber 4. Members are to bring their oww table service. Fifty-cent gifts will be exchanged and all members and mothers of service personnel are invited to attend.
