SPORT SHOTS by harry whitlow The Roosevelt baseball team is really having their troubles all games so far this year have been decided by the margin of only one run—winning one and losing two. Last Friday night in a swell game they were beaten in the seventh in ning when Fordson crossed the plate for that big one and the game ended 2 to 1 for Fordson. Bob Girardin pitched a nice game al lowing seven hits, fanning three. Wyandotte scored in the second inning when Springstead singled and Stepanik followed suit, Stahl man forced Stepanik at second and Cripps fanned. Girardin was hit by a pitched ball and the sacks were full. Pritchett walked, forcing in Springstead with the first run, then to end it, Caterino went out on a ground ball to second. The lo cal team had a great chance in the last inning with two on but they were unable to score. The Wyandotte City Recreation Leagues got away to a good start last week. Several games had to be called off because of cold and rain but there were some real played.
