Couneilmen Aaron Simmons, Charles Sash and William Dahlka continued to protest the council’s making the decision. Chestley Laßeau, councilman and chairman of the special committee named by village president Ray mond G. Bates to investigate the purchase, asked approval of the council tc have the village attorney draw up a resolution and put the purchase up for vote of the tax payers in the March election. The proposed park site is adja cent to the church subdivision and was offered to the village for $30,- 000. The property is assessed by the village for $60,000. A stipulation in the contract states that the land must be used for a future park for Trenton or the property will auto matically revert to the Church land company. Opposing the move, the three couneilmen said that it would cost $200,000 at the least to improve the park in addition to mainte nance, uhich Trenton cannot af ford.
