Burke Branch, Red Cross, will have the annual meeting and election of oflicers at West Burke, Friday Oct. 17, at two o'clock, at the church. Miss Varney and Mrs. Margaret Hey wood from St. Johnsbury will be pre sent to further the new Red Cross program and Home Service. It is hoped there will be a good attendance. Mrs. Jennie Gilson and Mrs. Daisy Sherburn visited friends in St. Johns bury Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Chase visited friends in Sheffield last week. Mr. and Mrs. Cari Frasier are spending a few days in Camptorì, N. H., with Mr. and Mrs. Walter SiLsby. Mrs. Maggie Sullivan is clerking in thei rstore during their absence.
