A very interesting meeting of the W. M. S. of the Church of Christ was held Tuesday afternoon at the church. Officers elected for the coming year were: President, Mr. F. D. Early last week, one of the large transformers at the sub-station of the Consumers Power Co., on Corunna Avenue,' burned out, and repairmen are working, night and day endeavor ing to get this unit into operation by the latter part of this week. On Mon day forenoon, June 7th, one of the large bushings in another transformer blew up, necessitating a complete shut down for one hour and eighteen mln utes. The remains arriv ed In Owosso inursday morning ac companied by his daughter, Mrs. Jes sie Schicle and her husband. The bu rial took place at Oak Hill cemetery at 10 o'clock. Mr. MacDonald had been a resident of Owosso since early manhood until two years ago when he and his wife went to Rochester to make their home with their daughter Mary. He was employed as night watchman at the Owosso Manufactur ing Company's plant for 25 years and has a host of friends who will learn of his death with regret. Mrs. MacDon aid is very ill and both she and the daughter Mary will be unable to come with the remains. About 100 persons attended the joint celebration of the 40th anniver sary of the W. H. M. S. of the First Methodist church and the 20th anni versary of the Royal Queen Esthers held on the lawn of the W. A. Upham residence on N. Washington street Tuesday evening. An elaborate din ner was served at C o'clock, a feature of which was the cutting of the birth day cakes.
