There are certain sections where. on account of local conditions, the crop has Leen reduced, but these are, in the main, only small In area. In Nova hcotia, where eariler inditcaions point ed to a record crop, the later reports are very pessimistic, and state that Kreat many orchards in the Annapolis valley nave Leen completely ruined. The general report from British Co lumbia is that a crop well above aver age will be harvested, particularly of ine eariy varieties. Jn counties north of Lake Erie not or. e adverse report has been received from Western Ontario regarding the apple crop. Several growers report mat ii to ue me best lor many years. The bloom was particularly heavy, and the set has been a very good one. This report holds good throughout the whole ol this district. Reports from counties on Lake Huron and inland to York county are almost as optimistic. There is a fairly general report that Spys will be short in Brant county, and that winter apples in Mid dlesex have not set so well. Through out tms entire district there are quite a number or orchards which did not re ceive the best of care and which conse fluently are a menace to growers who are more up to date. Where spraying has been satisfac torily carried on, the crop in Lake On tario counties north to Sharbot Lake and Georgian Bay will be a heavy one but where orchards have been at all neglected, the trees are overrun with tent caterpillars, and the quality of the fruit will be greatly reduced through tne lowered vitality or the trees. The outlook in Ottawa and St. Law rence Valleys to Lake St. Peter and Quebec is generally favorable. In the province of Quebec there has been a great deal of damage by caterpillars in unsprayed orchards particularly in the county ol Huntingdon. 1 he crop gen erally, even in these Infested areas, win be about an average one. The same injury from frost that was experienced in the province of Nova Scotia, has also been reported in New Brunswick. In view of the fact that the later varieties were not fully in blossom at the time of this frost, there is a possibility that on these the dam age will not be severe. On the earlier varieties, which were in full bloom, there is every likelihood that the crop will ue greatly reduced. In the Okanogan Valley the outlook for Jonathans and Yellow Newtowns is fair; for Weulthies, Wageners and Spitzenburgs heavy, and for Mcintosh, gloomy. Prospects in Quebec are that Wealthy trees promise a very heavy crop, and tameuse and Mcintosh good crop. BARGAIN DAY DRAWS NEIGHBORING PEOPLE IF-SECIOIfcT STABLE ..Livery, Feed and Drayinir.
