'Young America was foaled May 185 Is an Iron grey with black points, 15 hands 3 laches high, and weighs 1250 pounds, lie is a handsome, powerful-going horse of noble stride aud action, and as the sire of trotters has proved h'mstlf one of the very best in the country. He has never got a colt yet that was not of more than orillnaiy promise, and cut o( four colts got by him when 4 years old, all could show a tltree-mlnule glt at 3 years old, and one was sold for $1100 1 the only colt ever sold of his get at the present tlmt?, ao far as Is known. He Is also half brother to Illonde, Privateer and ledger. IHonJe, formerly the property of V. Ily the above It will be observM that Yonng America Is a neir relative ofllysdlck's Hamb1etoman,both being descended from Imported Mesrenger a stnln of blood that has produced more trotters of great sped and en durance than all other strains combined. rtaroauixcu. Young America trotted, when two years old, two races 'on itW Centrevllle course, Ixing Island ( one for $2000, agaW lady U Ins, and one for $1000, against llocky Hill, winning avery heat with ease, and making the I wit time on rerord fr a two yevr-oM. via -. 3 minutes and 3 conds. One of his gut took tho 1st premium for two-ycar.old stallions, and all the brood mares of tretttng blood that took premiums had foali by their side got by Young America. At the Vermont State Fair of 1887, out of nine entries made by one man of Young America's colts, elg'it took premiums, either 1st or 2l, and no colt obtained a 1st tiremium o.er them. We are satisfied that In thii young horse the breeders of New Kngland have a stallion uf very great vatue to thtir section of the country. He comes on both sides from pure natural trotting lamllks, both of which were remarkable for their stoutness as well as the speed or their stock. Ulonde and Young America are nearly identified la blood, and we think If the stallion had been trained till now he would have leen as fast as she Is. We have urged his owner to bring him back to the Island, aud let htm have a season on the course. He htlkves with us lliat the horse would distinguish hlinsslf. and would fain give him the opportunity to do sot but his services at the stud are so highly esteemed, and his produce hme already displayed such fiue points and such superior Seed and action, that be cannot be spared from the stud. He may however leave the neighborhood at some date, and mean time, U we lived near hlin and had a good marc, we would certainly dip Into the Grey Messenger and Ahdal lah blond, of which he Is the fountain, The breeders and gentlemen of New Kngland a:e In. tlted to see this horse and his produce.
