GUS LARSON LOST IN WOODS A Resident of Petersburg Lost Near Point Adolphus in Icy Straits. | (Jus Larson was lost in the woods just a week before Christ inas near Point Adolphus, across Icy Straits from Hoonah, and, af ter seven days’ search, has been given up for dead. Larson and his three compan ions, all of them residents of Petersburg, came over Icy Straits to hunt, and after spending a day at hoonah, where they anchored their boat, the schooner Wailf, they went into the woods. This was on December 18, and it was the last time either of the three saw him. Kit her he was over taken by some accident that dis abled him, or he lost his way in the woods, for he did not return to camp that night. For a lime the three men searched for him, and after the second day following his disap pearance, they went to Hoonah land got others to join in the search. But all efforts to locate the missing man 'proved fruit dess, and the day before the Geor gia left on lh»‘ return trip the hunt had been abandoned as hopeless and Larson given up for lost. The schooner Waif was still anchored on the beach at Point Adolphus when the Georgia sail ed. The first news of the trag edy was brought to Juneau last, night when the Georgia arrived. —Juneau Dispatch. Fight Fire With Fire.
