NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS
IN A SUITCASE
Winsted, Conn., Jan. 21.—A
sum of money exceeding $90,000,
all in hank notes, it was reported,
had been found in an old suitcase
among the effects of Mrs. Erne
line B. Mills, widow of Daniel H.
Mills, at the Mills home Satur
day. Mrs. Mills, who was the
wealthiest woman in Winsted,
and whose estate is estimated to
be worth over $500,000, died on
December 21 in her 94th year.
Her will as admitted to probate
last Tuesday, and by its terms the
estate is divided into three parts,
of one of which he ruiece, Mrs.
Elia Tiffany, of Blandford, Mass.,
receives the life use while the oth
er two-thirds go to Mrs. Tiffany’s
two children, who, after their
mother’s death, will also inherit
her third. The money found is
said to have been deposited in a
local hank. Mrs. Mills lived all
alom*, like a miser, keeping no
servants. She never indulged in
any luxury, so far as her friends
can remember.
